E-commerce Website Design in Kenya

Sell online with a shop built for how Kenyans buy: clear prices, mobile checkout, M-Pesa and orders that land on your WhatsApp. A full custom store, or a free shop you can open in minutes.

  • Custom stores from KES 50,000
  • Free WFW shop to start
  • M-Pesa ready
  • Orders on WhatsApp

Two ways to sell online in Kenya

Most businesses that ask us for an online shop fit one of two situations. Either you want to get products online this week at no cost and keep selling on WhatsApp, or you are ready for a full store on your own domain with M-Pesa at checkout. Here is how the two compare.

Option 1

Free WFW shop

KES 0 to start

Open it yourself in a few minutes at wfw.co.ke/your-shop. Customers browse and add to cart, and the order arrives on your WhatsApp.

  • Products, categories, search and a cart
  • Each order sent to your WhatsApp as a message with an order code
  • Owner dashboard for products, stock, orders and visits
  • Discount codes
  • Connect your own domain later
  • Payment agreed with the customer, the way you already get paid

Best for: businesses already selling on Instagram, TikTok or WhatsApp that want a proper catalogue link, and anyone testing demand before spending on a build.

Option 2

Custom online store

KES 50,000 one-time

Our E-Commerce package: a store designed and built for your business, on your own domain, that you own after payment.

  • Unlimited pages and a catalogue of up to 50 items
  • Shopping cart and checkout
  • M-Pesa ready, with payment gateway integration
  • Order management and inventory tracking
  • Customer accounts
  • 6 months free hosting and 3 months support

Best for: shops with steady orders that want customers to pay online, a brand of their own, and less time spent confirming every order by hand.

What Kenyan online shoppers expect

A shop that copies a template built for Europe or the US misses the details that decide whether someone in Nairobi, Kisumu or Eldoret actually orders. These are the things we build every store around.

Clear prices in KES

No "DM for price". Every product shows its price in shillings, with offers and wholesale prices marked plainly, so buyers can compare before they chat.

M-Pesa

Most customers expect to pay by M-Pesa. A custom store can take it at checkout through your Paybill or Till, and card payments can be added through a gateway.

Pay on delivery options

Many first-time buyers will only order if they can pay when the parcel arrives. Offering it, even only within Nairobi, removes the fear of paying for goods that never come.

Delivery zones and fees

State who you deliver to and what it costs before checkout: a CBD rate, a rate for the rest of Nairobi, and a rate for parcels upcountry. Surprise fees at the end lose sales.

WhatsApp for questions

Shoppers want to ask "is this original?" or "do you have size 42?" before paying. A WhatsApp button on every product page keeps that conversation one tap away.

Fast on phones

Most shoppers will visit from a phone, often on mobile data. Compressed images, a short checkout and big tap targets matter more than animations.

Custom store

What a custom online shop includes

Our E-Commerce package is a complete shop you run yourself after handover. We set up the products you give us, test real orders on desktop and mobile, and train you to add stock, update prices and process orders.

Need more than 50 products, a loyalty programme, wholesale pricing or a courier integration? Tell us in your quote request and we will price it clearly before any work starts. Payment is 50% to start and 50% on completion, or 100% upfront with a 5% discount.

  • Home page with featured and new products
  • Categories, filters and search
  • Product pages with photos, variants and descriptions
  • Cart and mobile-friendly checkout
  • M-Pesa ready payments
  • Pay on delivery if you offer it
  • Delivery zones and fees
  • WhatsApp button and ordering
  • Order management
  • Inventory and stock levels
  • Customer accounts and order history
  • Discount and coupon codes
  • Delivery, returns and privacy policy pages
  • SEO basics, sitemap and Google Search Console

  • Your own domain, owned by you

How we build your online shop

A custom store typically takes three to four weeks from the day we have your products. AI coding agents do the build, and our team directs every decision and reviews the result, checking screenshots on desktop and mobile before you see it.

Brief

1

A call or WhatsApp chat about what you sell, who buys, how you deliver and how you want to be paid.

Design and build

2

We build the store on a private link and you review it on your own phone.

Products and testing

3

Products loaded, payments and delivery fees set up, and test orders placed from start to finish.

Launch and handover

4

The shop goes live on your domain, we train you, and the site is yours to run.

What you need to prepare

The biggest cause of delay on any shop build is waiting for product information. Having these ready before we start keeps you on the three to four week timeline.

  • Product photos: clear, well-lit shots on a plain background, ideally two or three per product. A good phone camera is fine.
  • Prices: the selling price in KES for every product and variant, plus any wholesale or offer prices.
  • Descriptions: what it is, size or specifications, what is in the box and any warranty.
  • Delivery policy: areas you deliver to, the fee for each, how long it takes, and whether you accept pay on delivery.
  • Payment details: your M-Pesa Paybill or Till number.
  • Returns policy: when you accept returns or exchanges.

Short on photos or copy?

We can help. Product photography is KES 10,000 and content writing is KES 5,000, and a logo is KES 8,000 if you do not have one yet.

After the free hosting period, hosting and your domain cost KES 500 a month or KES 5,000 a year, including SSL, daily backups and domain renewal. Ongoing maintenance is KES 1,500 a month if you would like us to handle updates.
