School Website Design in Kenya
A school website that answers parents' questions before they call: curriculum, fees, admissions and life at the school, kept current by your own staff.
- From KES 15,000
- Staff-editable news & galleries
- Admissions enquiries
- Portals on request
What parents look for on a school website
Parents compare several schools on their phones before they visit any of them. The schools that get the call are the ones whose website answers these questions clearly.
Curriculum and levels
Which system you teach, CBE (formerly CBC), IGCSE, British, IB or a mix, and which levels: pre-primary, primary, junior school or senior school, including the pathways a senior school offers.
Fees guidance
A fee structure, a range, or at least what the fees cover (lunch, transport, trips, uniform). Even a range saves your office answering the same question on every call.
Admissions process
Intake dates, entry requirements, assessment or interview, documents to bring, and a simple way to enquire or book a visit.
Location and transport
A Google Map, directions from known landmarks, and the estates your school bus routes cover. For many Nairobi families this decides the shortlist.
Facilities and school life
Real photos of classrooms, labs, library, playing fields, boarding if you offer it, and the clubs, sports and trips that happen through the year.
Contacts that work
An office phone number that is answered, a WhatsApp button, an email address and office hours, visible on every page.
What we build into a school website
Every school site is mobile-first, fast on Kenyan mobile data and set up for Google Search, with the features below chosen to suit your school.
Admissions enquiry form
Parents fill in the learner's age, the grade they are joining and their contacts. Each enquiry goes straight to the admissions email and is saved to a simple dashboard, so no enquiry is lost in an inbox.
News, events and gallery your staff update
Sports day results, prize giving photos and term dates, posted by your own staff from a phone or laptop without calling a developer.
Downloadable forms and calendar
Admission forms, fee structures, uniform and requirements lists, and the school calendar as PDFs parents can download and print.
Portals for staff or parents
On request, a private login area: teachers filing reports, administrators approving them, or parents viewing information about their child. Portals are scoped and quoted separately.
Found on Google and Maps
Page titles, a sitemap, Search Console and Google Analytics, plus help linking your Google Business Profile so parents searching "schools near me" find you.
A .sc.ke domain in your name
Kindergartens, primary and secondary schools can use .sc.ke with their Ministry of Education registration certificate. Our .ke domain guide explains the requirements.
Education websites we have built
Both sites are live. Visit them on your phone and judge for yourself.
ackstmary.com
ACK St Marys School Thindigua
A website for a primary and junior school that introduces the school to new families and helps parents enrol with confidence.
careshomebasedtuition.com
Cares Home-Based Tuition
A custom WordPress site for a tutoring agency: enquiry pipeline by email, SEO with Google Analytics and Search Console, a gallery and content the staff edit themselves, and a private staff portal where tutors file weekly reports. Fully handed over in July 2026.
Packages for schools
Fixed, one-time prices. The school owns the website once it is paid for.
Starter
For a small school or tuition centre that needs the basics: up to 5 pages, contact form, Google Maps, WhatsApp button and basic SEO. Typically 1 to 2 weeks.
Business
The usual choice for schools: up to 10 pages for academics, admissions, fees, facilities and news, plus a gallery, advanced forms, Google Analytics, staff training and a month of support. Typically 2 to 3 weeks.
Portals and custom features
Staff or parent portals, enquiry dashboards and other custom tools are scoped with you and quoted separately, after we understand how your school works.
After the free hosting period, hosting and domain cost KES 500 a month or KES 5,000 a year. Content writing (KES 5,000) and photography (KES 10,000) are available as add-ons. Full details are on our pricing page.
How we work with your school
The build itself is quick. What takes time in a school is agreeing on content, so we plan for that from the first meeting.
Agree who is involved
1One decision maker (the head or director), one person from admissions or the office who knows what parents ask, and the staff member who will post news and photos.
Gather the content
2We send a checklist: curriculum and levels, fees guidance, admission steps, term dates, contacts and forms. We turn your documents into clear web pages.
Take real photos
3Real photos of your classrooms, grounds and activities beat stock images. Share recent ones, or book our photographer. Follow your school's consent policy for any photos of learners.
Train staff and hand over
4We check the site on desktop and mobile, train your staff to post updates, and hand over the logins and domain in the school's name.
Not sure how your current school website is doing? Run it through our free website audit for a grade on speed, mobile, SEO and contact readiness.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a school website cost in Kenya?
A straightforward school site starts from our Starter package at KES 15,000. Most schools choose the Business package at KES 30,000 for up to ten pages, galleries and analytics. Portals and custom features are quoted separately.
Can our staff update news, events and photos?
Yes. We build the site so staff can post news, update galleries and change key details without a developer, and we train them before handover.
Can you build a portal for teachers or parents?
Yes. For Cares Home-Based Tuition we built a private staff portal where tutors file weekly student reports and administrators approve them.
Which domain should a school use?
Schools can use .sc.ke, the extension reserved for Kenyan schools, which needs a Ministry of Education registration certificate. Colleges and universities use .ac.ke, and any school can also use .co.ke. We can help with registration.
